English Pastor 

Overview

GCCSD is a non-denomination church mainly consisting of oversea born first generation and American born second generation believers and seekers. In the near term, the English Pastor will stabilize and grow the English congregation and all English related ministries with priorities on second generation youth and young adults. In the long term, with God’s calling and demonstrated spiritual maturity and caliber amidst the thriving English ministries, the English Pastor may assume a larger role to lead the entire church into the next phase of growth. 

Primary Responsibilities

In collaboration with fellow pastors and the Deacon Board, the English Pastor will provide spiritual leadership to lead and equip English congregants in ministries such as teaching, evangelism, worship, fellowship, caring, counseling, and social concerns based on each person’s gifts and commitments. More specifically, the English Pastor is expected to perform the following duties:

  • Work with fellow pastors and the Deacon Board to provide leadership for the fulfilling of Church’s vision and missions.
  • Minister to the English congregants, including adults and youth in college, high school, and middle school.
  • Follow the Great Commission to lead the congregation to spread the Gospel in the local communities, places afar and online in collaboration with missions and fellowship deacons.
  • Faithfully preach and teach the Word on pulpit and in English Sunday School classrooms.
  • Design and schedule English Sunday School curriculum for the youth and adults in collaboration with Christian education deacon.
  • Conduct Holy Communion, baptismal services and pastoral prayers. Coordinate worship services with worship deacon
  • Create English fellowship meeting schedules and plans in collaboration with fellowship deacon. Regularly and actively participate in English fellowship meetings.
  • Shepherd the flocks with family role model and discipleship. Care congregants through regular visitation and fellowship. Coordinate visitation schedule with fellow pastors.
  • Lead weekly prayer meeting of the English congregation.
  • Hold on average 20 hours of regular office hours per week in church facility.
  • Participate in pastor fellowship meetings, church wide events and deacon board meetings.
  • Lead parents and coworkers in children ministries.

Accountability

The English Pastor is to work with fellow pastors and deacons of the church for spiritual and ministry responsibilities. The English Pastor will provide annual reports and be evaluated by the Deacon Board for ministry effectiveness. Moreover, he will be reviewed by the congregation every three years.

Qualifications

  • Minimum BA in ministry or theology
  • In full agreement with GCCSD’s statement of faith and theological standing
  • Meet the requirements as stated in 1 Timothy 3:1-7
  • Native fluency in English
  • Church planting and/or new ministry startup experience preferable
  • Be able to communicate in Mandarin a plus

Position: Youth Minister (or Youth Worker)

  1. Job Description and Duties

Our Youth Minister/Youth Worker is responsible for guiding children and adolescents (Grade 6-12) in their understanding of themselves and their faith. Under the guidance of Church Pastor, the Youth Minister/Youth Worker will lead the advisory team to plan and implement programs for our youth groups, which will include Bible study, topical discussions, group activities, guest speaker invitations, community outreach, and small group discipleship, etc. In addition, the Youth Minister/Youth Worker is expected to invite parents to support our youth ministry and to communicate program details and schedule to them.

 

  1. Qualifications

 Qualified candidate will have good Bible knowledge, abide by Glory Christian Church's statement of faith, and demonstrate a good spiritual life walking with God.

 Have good communication skills, and a loving heart for the youths. Able to relate to young people and to earn their respect and trust. Evident relationship and belief in God and the church.

 Education: B.S or B.A

 This position is a part time position. It will be 20 hours per week.

 The qualified candidate will lead Friday Night Fellowships, attend Sunday worship with optional pulpit ministry, and teach Junior or Senior High Sunday School courses.

The GCCSD is developing a Service Scheduler and Membership Management Web Application to streamline service scheduling and membership operations. We are seeking a motivated Part-Time Software Development Intern to join our team and contribute to building a secure, scalable, and user-friendly platform.

Job Summary

As a Part-Time Software Development Intern, you will assist in the development and testing of the GCCSD Service Scheduler and Membership Management Web Application. You will work under the guidance of senior developers to implement features, fix bugs, and ensure the application meets project requirements. This role provides hands-on experience with modern web development technologies, including ASP.NET Core, SQL Server Express, and JavaScript frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing front-end components using ASP.NET MVC, Blazor, or VUE/REACT JavaScript frameworks.
  • Support back-end development tasks using C# and ASP.NET Core, including API endpoints and database interactions with Entity Framework Core.
  • Collaborate with the team to implement calendar functionality using FullCalendar.js or a custom calendar component.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices.
  • Assist in testing and debugging application features to ensure functionality and performance.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to improve code quality.
  • Support the integration of authentication features using ASP.NET Identity.
  • Contribute to the development of automated email reminder functionality using background services or tools like Hangfire.
  • Work with the team to ensure responsive design for desktop and mobile devices using Bootstrap 5 or other styling frameworks.

Qualifications

  • Current enrollment in a degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or recent graduate).
  • Basic understanding of C#, .NET, and web development concepts.
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of relational databases, preferably SQL Server, and basic SQL queries.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Basic understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git) is a plus.
  • Prior experience with ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core, or FullCalendar.js is a plus but not required.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with frameworks like VUE or REACT.
  • Exposure to ASP.NET Identity for authentication and role-based access.
  • Familiarity with Bootstrap 5 or similar CSS frameworks for responsive design.
  • Basic understanding of background job processing (e.g., Hangfire) or email services (e.g., SendGrid API).
  • Interest in building user-friendly and scalable web applications.

Work Schedule
